Chan Heng Wing
Board Advisor Chan Heng Wing is a Board Advisor of Fusang.
Chan Heng Wing was the Founding Chairman of Milken Institute Asia Center and is now its Senior Advisor. Chan is also Senior Advisor in Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Non-Resident High Commissioner to the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Before assuming his current roles, Chan was Managing Director for International Relations at Temasek International in Singapore and Chief Representative in China for Temasek Holdings prior to that. He retired from Temasek International in October 2011 and is currently an Independent Director of Banyan Tree Holdings, Frasers Centrepoint Ltd. and the holding companies of Fullerton Bay and Fullerton Hotel.
Chan has a long history of government service. Most recently, he served as Consul General to Shanghai (2005-2008), Singapore's Ambassador to Thailand (2002-2005), and Singapore's Consul General to the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions of China (1997-2001) after Hong Kong was returned to China. He was also Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong's Press Secretary (1990-1997) as well as Director of the Media Division in the Ministry of Information and the Arts (1993-1997).
Chan served as Counselor in Singapore's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (1981-1985) and later was Director of the Policy, Planning and Analysis Directorate responsible for the Soviet Union, China, Eastern Europe and international organizations (1988-1990).
Chan began his career as a Singapore TV journalist and executive producer of documentaries and current affairs programs and won several awards for his work.
He holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Singapore, and an M.S. from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, where he received the Henry N. Taylor Award as the top international student in his class.BACK TO FUSANG TEAM
