Senior Application Developer

Baxian Malaysia Sdn Bhd, is partof one of the largest independent group of companies which provides trust, fundand family office services across Asia and have offices in Singapore, KualaLumpur, Labuan, Hong Kong, Taipei, British Virgin Islands, Cook Islands andSamoa and managed licences in Cayman Islands and Seychelles. As part of its developmentalplans, Baxian is looking to hire a Senior Application Developer to assist withthe enhancement and development of its proprietary in-house document managementand corporate secretarial application system, Client accounting system that isin use across 9 global offices.

In order to facilitate upgradingand enhancements to this system, an application programmer is required toassist with the development of the application, provide user support/trainingas well as identify and integrate third party applications to enhanceuseability of the application.

This full-time role is based inKuala Lumpur. Please note that only Malaysians and residents with the right tolive and work in Malaysia need apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

•        Work with the head ofengineering to analyse user requirements and systemdesign specifications.

•        Write and audit welldesigned, testable, efficient code.

•        Assist in planning of the development andmodifications to the current in-house application.

•        Write testable code where applicable with high codecoverage.

•        Contribute and maintain the application releasedocumentation and adopt modern version control strategies.

•        Contribute to the application’s user guidedocumentation and educate users on how to use the platform(s).

•        Investigate and resolve anyapplication/system problems as and when necessary.

•        Enhance application modulesto improve efficiency and resource utilization.

•        Work with the team to deliver solutions in atime-sensitive manner using agile methodologies where applicable.

•        Identify and mitigatepotential risks early in the Software Development Life cycle.

•        Managing the relationship andcommunication with all stakeholders, ensuring the application is delivered totheir satisfaction.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

•        The candidate must possess atleast a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science with at least 3 years’ experience in hands-on coding.

•        Excellent programming skills in C#. NET, Web API, EFcore 8, MS SQL, IIS , database administration, React JS and Functional programming. Knowledge of VB .NET andWindows Forms UI design is an advantage.

•        Experience with the use ofVisual Studio and Telerik controls is good to have

•        Experienced with version control technologies likeBitbucket, Git and/or Azure DevOps.

•        Strong analytical and logical skills to troubleshootand debug complex source codes.

•        Experience with working on legacy systems and migratingthem to newer stack would be an advantage.

•        Willing to learn new technologies and maintain codewritten in VB .NET framework.

•        Able to work independentlywith minimal supervision

•        Knowledge in corporateservices, fund management and accounting will be the advantage.

•        Able to communicate and present ideas and concepts inEnglish.
